QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate preferred
18 years old to obtain a SC bus certificate
Must possess a valid SC Driver’s License for a minimum of 1 year
No more than 4 points accumulated on a current SC Driver’s License
Successful completion of the written and driving portions of the SC school bus training course and CDL program
Training and certification are provided free of charge
Available for regular work schedule
No Driving Under the Influence convictions within last 10 years
Must pass pre-employment screen
REPORTS TO: Transportation Director
JOB GOAL: To transport students to and from school and school events in a safe and efficient manner.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Obeys all traffic laws
Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses
Transport students/passengers to and from school and events
Supervise and assist passengers (including disabled) on and off the bus
Perform pre-trip inspections daily
Discharge passengers at authorized stops only
Maintain rules governing passenger conduct on bus
Collect and submit personal items left on bus to bus office
Complete and maintain accurate and timely records and reports ( i.e. time sheets, mechanical reports, route descriptions, seating charts, etc.)
Attend scheduled in-service training
Adhere to regular service schedule for bus
Clean bus (i.e. sweeping, washing front and back windows, etc.)
Maintain positive communication with school personnel, parents, and students
Dress appropriate
Works with others consistently in a cooperative and respectful manner
Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips
Perform other duties as assigned

Nine (9) Months on the Bus Driver Salary Schedule
Starting Salary- $15.18 per hour
