Part-time School Psychologist for McCarthy Teszler School

 

Part-time School psychologist for 2024-2025 school year in a multidistrict special education school for students with complex needs. The school consists of approximately 250 students who participate in one of two programs:

 

McCarthy Program: includes students functioning in the moderate to severe/profound range of intelligence.  Most students are nonverbal communicators.  Many of the students have classifications of autism spectrum disorder.  Others include students diagnosed with rare genetic disorders, some of whom are considered medically complex.

 

Teszler Program: includes students with social/emotional/behavioral issues impacting their ability to learn and function within a typical school setting. This program includes  counseling and recreational therapy components.

Working collaboratively with teachers and therapists in the building (SLP, OT, PT, Counselors, and Autism Specialists) as well as parents and outside providers to address the needs of students. 

 

Specific tasks include:
