Instructional Technology Coach (ITC) assist classroom teachers in the incorporation of technological software into lesson plans, build teacher technology use capacity and help teachers effectively integrate technology into the curriculum by:
Roles:
- Learning the basics of using technologies
- Using technologies to support instruction
- Integrating innovative technologies into classroom practices
- Discovering new uses for technology tools
- Designing projects that combine multiple technologies
- Focusing on cooperative, project-based and interdisciplinary work with technology being just one of the many tools that students use.
Participate on the school leadership team to support building instructional initiatives and district instructional initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with faculty and instructional leaders on the successful integration of software and Internet resources, in support of student learning, and assist teachers in meeting standards for subject-area and technology-learning objectives.
- Create learning resources for teachers, staff, and students. These may include (but not limited to) tutorials, instructional videos, interactive programs, and databases that support teachers in integrating technology. Ideally, teachers will be guided and encouraged to develop their own resources, while the Instructional Technology Coach will continue to provide additional support as needed.
- Co-teach, mentor and coach teachers in a variety of technology integration methodologies and strategies
- Work with building-level administrators, district administrators, and instructional coaches as well as other district instructional personnel to develop integrated lessons and collaborate on effective strategies that ensure meaningful use of all available technologies.
- Coordinate instruction to meet technology proficiency goals including professional development and workshops regarding computer use.
- Recommend software and related resources.
- Assist in planning and implementing a variety of extended opportunities for student learning.
- Identify trends in software, curriculum, teaching strategies and other educational areas.
- Assess technology skill levels of students, teachers, and staff to inform professional development and build teacher technology capacity.
- Assist in the support and integration of building and district technology plans, as needed.
- Maintain Activity Logs for reflection and accreditation purposes.
- Use positive and effective interpersonal communication skills.

- Consistently demonstrate professional behavior.
- Consistently communicate with administration and building leadership team.
- Perform the above duties as needed in individual buildings and/or district events.
