To substitute for positions within Spartanburg School District Seven on an as needed basis.

Thank you for your interest in serving as a substitute teacher in Spartanburg School District Seven. Several documents must be completed and you must attend a required training session in order to be added to the substitute teacher list. A South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) criminal history report is required for every prospective employee of Spartanburg School District Seven. The Human Resources Department obtains the SLED report.

Please submit the following information to the District office once you have complete the application via www.spartanburg7.org. Also, your application will be processed when we are in receipt of the items listed below:

1. Completed Application via Spartanburg School District 7 website at www.spartanburg7.org.

2. A tuberculin skin test that has been completed within the last year.
3. Copies of transcripts verifying your educational background.
4. Two (2)references that are familiar with your work performance. You MUST provide emails for your references via the application process.

INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS OVER 60 DAYS WILL BE DELETED.

Complete the employment section of the application with accurate contact information. Telephone reference checks to a professional associate(s) will be conducted.

Rate and Method of Payment
Teacher Substitutes: $125.00/day
Teacher Assistant Substitutes: $90.00/day
Substitute Nurse: $125.00/day

Substitute teachers are not paid during the month they work; they are paid the subsequent month.
Payroll is on the 23rd of the month but if the 23rd falls on a Saturday or Sunday, you will be paid the prior Friday. Example: If you substitute in the month of September, you will be paid on October 23rd. If you work in the month of October, you will be paid November 23rd. The substitute pay period is the first day of the month to the last. Paychecks are mailed to the address on your application.
